Three tips to good video from your smartphone

1. Keep a steady hand. It’s always best to use a tripod but sometimes you just have to steady yourself. Keep both hands on the smartphone as you’re recording. Stabilizers and tripods are helpful.

2. Shoot in brightly lit areas. Or use an inexpensive light kit. Remember to not point the camera directly to bright light sources, which creates pesky back lighting.

3. Audio is more important than the video. Without good audio, your video is worthless. The built-in microphones on your smartphone just won’t provide enough reach unless you can find a quiet area. If using an external mic isn’t an option, you’ll have to get close to your subject.
